WEEK 3

The following is the CONTENT you need to become familiarized for the class of next week (Tuesday 23 for group 62-25, and Thursday 25 for group 62-37):

UNIT 1 - Lesson 3 "FAVORITES" (Style 3, page 72) / Unit 2 - Lesson 2 "DISASTER" (Style 3, page 80)
FUNCTIONS: Identifying people and things, Narrating events.
STRUCTURES: Past simple, past progressive and past perfect / Relative clauses with WHO, WHICH, THAT.
VOCABULARY: Approval, drive into town, drive someone, favorite, kinder garden, least favorite, love to hate, Lucky you!, make somebody feel special, positive start, pride, save every penny, self-confidence, terrible. 1. FUNCTIONS: 
a. Identifying people and things:
For example: My favorite teacher from primary school is Mrs. Smith. (Mi profesora favorita de la primaria es la Sra. Smith)
Now, answer to the questions following the example:
Who are some teachers that you remember from primary school? Why do you remember them?

b. Narrating events:
Cuando de narrar eventos se trata, en inglés debemos responder a preguntas como las siguientes:
What happened? When did it happen? Where did it happen? Who was responsible?

2. GRAMMAR EXPLANATIONS:
a. Past Simple: Para comprender la terminación del pasado en los verbos regulares, miren este VIDEO. En el caso de los verbos irregulares, vean este VIDEO y este OTRO. Con el verbo DO en el pasado tenemos este otro VIDEO. No se preocupen por las páginas que aparecen en los videos.

b. Past Progressive: Para comprender muy bien la estructura y los usos de este tiempo en inglés, vean este VIDEO. Para la forma negativa, sirva este ejemplo: I was not (or wasn´t) washing the dishes yesterday. Para la forma interrogativa: Was I washing the dishes yesterday?

c. Past Perfect: Estupendo VIDEO.

d. Relative clauses with WHO, WHICH, THAT: Mirar este VIDEO. No hace falta entenderlo todo, sólo quedarse con una buena idea de las oraciones de relativo en inglés.
