WEEK 5 (3): EJERCICIOS DE REPASO DE FUNCIONES Y ESTRUCTURAS

Dear Students!

1. Going to:
a) Primer ejercicio.
b) Segundo ejercicio.
c) Tercer ejercicio.

2. Will:
a) Going to vs. Will.

a) Biofuels and the Environment.
b) Airbus Crisis Over.
c) Ada Lovelace.

Week 4: March 2 (ENX6225) & March 4 (ENX6237)

Dear students!

UNIT 2- Lesson 3 "If Wishes were Horses"
Functions: Expressing Regrets.
Structures: a. Third conditional, b. WISH + Past Perfect.
Vocabulary: find, miss (the bus), spend, spill, starve. Phrasal verbs: break up with, go out with, pay attention to, run into.

Wish (desear) + pasado perfecto.

a. Ejemplo de condicional no-real:
If I had studied, I would have passed my exam: Si yo hubiera estudiado, entonces hubiese aprobado mi examen.

Un ejemplo: I wish I had gone to the party: Ojalá hubiera ido a la fiesta.

Blame, bravery, cave, close, cloud, collapse, crash, damage, destroy, disaster, drought, earthquake, fanatic, flood, funnel, hijack, hit, hurricane, kindness, nation, order, report, respond, rush, shock, storm, tornado, tragedy, violence, weather.
Your online DICTIONARY.

1. FUNCTIONS:
a. Identifying people and things:
For example: My favorite teacher from primary school is Mrs. Smith. Smith)
Now, answer to the questions following the example:
Who are some teachers that you remember from primary school? Why do you remember them?

b. Narrating events:
What happened? When did it happen? Where did it happen? Who was responsible?

2. GRAMMAR EXPLANATIONS:

Para la forma negativa, sirva este ejemplo: I was not (or wasn´t) washing the dishes yesterday. Para la forma interrogativa: Was I washing the dishes yesterday?

c. Past Perfect: Estupendo VIDEO.

d. Relative clauses with WHO, WHICH, THAT: Mirar este VIDEO.

Track #29 - Style 3 - MacMillan. For educational purposes only.

3. GRAMMAR EXPLANATION - Explicación gramatical.
Going to or Will with Maybe, Probably, Hope, Guess, Think.
Ejemplos:
- I am going to get a job after college.
- She says she is going to open her store soon.
Ejemplos:
- I will probably live right here.
- Maybe I will become a politician.
- I hope I will find an interesting job.
- I think I will get the grant for college.
